Capil Gayadeen

In the early days while playing with toy instruments, Capil Gayadeen's natural talent as a budding keyboardist emerged. His mother Mynee Gayadeen was an excellent singer and dholak player, subsequently laying the foundation for a long musical journey. Capil's father Gayadeen Ganpat and his mother observed that their son had a natural ability towards music. At a very young age he started playing with the Naya Zindagi Orchestra where he learnt to play the accordion. 3 years later he switched to playing keyboard when he joined the Naya Andaz Orchestra. He later moved on to the Amar Sangeet Orchestra where he played the keyboard part-time. With all of the experience he gained over the years, in 1975 Capil decided to form his own band Gayatones Orchestra. Capil Gayadeen's 3 sons has had formal music training in piano, tabla and guitar, at which they excelled tremendously. Capil accompanied many Local and International artiste, Machel Montano, Bankim Pathak, Sonu Nigam and Anu Malik to name but a few. To date they are one of the most popular Indian Bands in the Caribbean. The band has toured extensively throughout Europe, India, North America and the Caribbean.
